merSETA ARPL Funding Opportunity for Experienced ArtisansFunding is available through merSETA to support qualifying applicants through the Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) process. This opportunity allows experienced artisans to obtain formal certification in high-demand trades.

Trades Available

  • Boilermaker

  • Diesel Mechanic

  • Motor Mechanic

  • Welder

Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants must be 19 years or older

  • Must have at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in the trade they are applying for

  • Must be currently unemployed

Documents Required

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Updated CV

  • Service letter(s) confirming relevant trade experience (South African work experience only)

  • Certified copy of ID (not older than 3 months)

  • Certified copy of highest qualification (not older than 3 months)
