Cellphone Repairs Training Programme Now Open for Youth in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape
Are you a young person living in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape, and interested in gaining practical skills in cellphone repair? A new Cellphone Repairs Training Programme is now accepting applications for 2025. This opportunity is brought to you by the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (Nemisa), in collaboration with Walter Sisulu University (WSU), Vaal University of Technology, and other strategic partners.
This programme is designed to empower unemployed youth with the technical and entrepreneurial skills needed to succeed in the mobile device repair industry, particularly in rural and urban residential areas. If you meet the requirements and have a passion for hands-on learning, this is your chance to develop a practical and in-demand skillset.
Programme Overview
The Cellphone Repairs Training Programme includes:

4 weeks of face-to-face training

12 weeks of mentoring and coaching conducted online
Participants will also complete two Microsoft Digital Literacy Courses as part of the learning process. The goal is to equip you with both technical repair skills and digital literacy to prepare you for the world of work or entrepreneurship.
Note: This programme does not offer a stipend, but it offers valuable training at no cost.

Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must:

Be South African citizens

Reside in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape

Be between 18 and 35 years old

Have Grade 12 with a minimum of:

40% in Mathematics

50% in Mathematical Literacy

Be able to pass a pre-assessment or entrance test

Commit to completing two Microsoft Digital Literacy Courses
