University of the Free State (UFS) 2026 Applications Now Open

The University of the Free State (UFS) has opened its online application system for the 2026 academic year. Prospective students are invited to apply for undergraduate studies across all three UFS campuses: Bloemfontein, QwaQwa, and South Campus.

Application Dates

• Opening Date: 1 April 2025

• Closing Date: 30 September 2025

• Application Fee: Free (No application fee required for South African citizens)

UFS offers a wide range of qualifications in faculties such as Health Sciences, Natural and Agricultural Sciences, Law, Education, Economic and Management Sciences, Humanities, Theology, and more.

How to Apply

1. Visit www.ufs.ac.za

2. Click on “Apply to study at UFS”

3. Register a profile and complete the online application form

4. Upload certified copies of:

   • ID document or passport

   • Final Grade 11 or latest school results

   • Any additional required documents (if applicable)

5. Submit your application and keep your student/reference number for tracking

Tips for a Smooth Application

• Apply early to avoid system overload and to secure space in your chosen programme

• Double-check the admission requirements for your programme of interest

• Make sure all documents are certified and clearly scanned

• Use a personal and active email address and mobile number

• Track your application status regularly on the UFS application portal
