How to Apply to the University of Mpumalanga for 2026

1. Prepare Your Documents

Ensure you have certified electronic copies of the following (formats accepted: PDF, DOC, DOCX, TIFF, PNG, JPG, JPEG):

  • South African ID or passport

  • Grade 11 final results or Matric certificate

  • Academic transcripts (if applicable)

  • Proof of payment of application fee

2. Application Fee

  • South African applicants: R200

  • SADC applicants: R400

  • International (non-SADC) applicants: R550
    The fee is non-refundable and must be paid before your application is processed.

3. Application Dates

  • Applications open: 1 June 2025

  • Applications close:

    • Undergraduate & Honours/Postgrad Diplomas: 30 November 2025

    • Master's & Doctoral programmes: 30 January 2026

4. Step-by-Step Application Process

  1. Visit the UMP online application portal: https://www.ump.ac.za

  2. Accept the application rules and complete the online form.

  3. Fill in your personal and academic information.

  4. Select up to two programmes (first and second choice).

  5. Upload all required documents.

  6. Pay the application fee and upload proof of payment.

  7. Submit the application and keep the confirmation message.

5. After You Apply

  • You’ll receive a student/reference number for tracking.

  • Regularly check your email or UMP portal for updates.

  • If offered more than one programme, you must accept only one.
