Higher Certificate in Law develops knowledge and practical capability in legal principles, reasoning, research and the South African legal system. Students build analytical, communication and problem-solving skills through theory and applied learning. Exact modules and practical components vary by institution and study year.

Other admission conditions
Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification. A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with at least 40% in the language of teaching and learning, or a Senior Certificate (SC)
with at least an E symbol on HG or a D symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning, or a National Certificate (Vocational) level 4 with an equivalent of at least 40% in the language of teaching and learning in terms of the NSC

Possible study paths
After completing this higher certificate, graduates may apply for a cognate diploma or bachelor's degree where articulation and admission rules allow. An LLB where applicable, a postgraduate diploma, honours-equivalent legal specialisation, master's degree or professional legal training, subject to entry requirements.
