IMPORTANT NOTICE: Phasing Out of Report 191 (NATED) Programmes

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) has officially announced the phase-out of all Report 191 (NATED) programmes to make way for modern, skills-focused occupational programmes.

As part of this transition, Mopani TVET College will not be accepting any new N4 Business Studies applications for the 2026 academic year.

Teach-Out Plan for Current Students:
Students already enrolled in NATED Business Studies will have a maximum of two chances to complete each level during the teach-out period.

Final Intakes:

• N4 Business Studies: Last intake – Semester 2, 2025

• N5 Business Studies: Last intake – Semester 2, 2026

• N6 Business Studies: Last intake – Semester 2, 2027

Final Completion Deadline:
The last date to complete a National N Diploma via the Business Studies route is 30 June 2029.

This change forms part of a national shift towards occupational programmes, designed to offer more practical, industry-aligned skills and improve employability.

Students are encouraged to consult with Mopani TVET College for guidance on completing their current qualifications or transitioning to occupational programmes.
