Diploma in Electrical Engineering develops knowledge and practical capability in engineering design, scientific analysis and technology-based problem-solving. Other admission conditions
For candidates who matriculated in 2007 and before : A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a score of 27 or higher on the CUT scoring scale, plus a minimum mark of 50% on standard grade or 40% on higher grade in English, Physical Sciences
and Mathematics. For candidates who completed the NSC in 2008 and thereafter : A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a score of 27 or higher on the CUT scoring scale, plus a minimum pass mark of 50% (rating 4) in Mathematics, Physical
Sciences and English. Mathematical Literacy will not be accepted. Applicants in possession of the National Certificate Vocational (NCV) will be selected according to the selection requirements as approved by Senate. Career Opportunities This

or career focus which prepare graduates to enter a specific niche in the labour market with the necessary knowledge, understanding, abilities and skills required for further learning towards becoming a competent practising Professional
Engineering Technician. A person in possession of this qualification is able to do the following: competently apply an integration of theory, principles, proven techniques, practical experience and appropriate skills towards solving

Possible study paths
Graduates may progress to doctoral study in a related field, subject to research alignment and the receiving institution's admission requirements. Advanced or postgraduate study in the same engineering discipline, engineering management or a related specialisation, subject to academic results and professional requirements.
Where this qualification may lead
Engineering technologist; design engineer; project technician; production specialist; consulting professional; or technical manager, depending on the discipline and professional registration.
