Lovedale
Lovedale TVET College is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training institution based in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The college provides occupational, artisan and vocational qualifications (NC(V), Report 191/NATED and short skills programmes) aimed at equipping learners with practical skills for the labour market, entrepreneurship and community development. Lovedale serves local and regional learners through career-focused programmes and partnerships with industry and SETAs.
History
Lovedale TVET College has its roots in the Eastern Cape's rich educational traditions. The current TVET college was established through the post‑2000 technical and vocational education reforms that consolidated a number of former technical colleges and training centres into public TVET institutions. Over time the college expanded course offerings to include NC(V) programmes, engineering and business-related trades, hospitality and community skills training, while developing relationships with industry, government and SETAs to improve graduate employability and local skills development.
To provide relevant, accessible and quality vocational education and training that develops skilled, employable and entrepreneurial graduates who can contribute to regional socio‑economic development.
