College of Cape Town
The College of Cape Town (CCT) is a multi-campus Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college based in Cape Town, Western Cape. CCT offers nationally recognised vocational qualifications including National Certificate Vocational (NCV) programmes, Report 191 (NATED) business studies, artisan and occupational short courses, and workplace skills programmes. The college serves diverse urban and peri-urban communities and focuses on skills development for employment, entrepreneurship and further study.
History
The College of Cape Town developed as a response to the need for expanded vocational education provision across the metropolitan area of Cape Town. Over time it consolidated multiple teaching sites into a multi-campus TVET college offering a broad range of occupational, vocational and continuing education programmes. The college has evolved its curriculum and student support services to align with national TVET policy, respond to local labour-market demands, and expand access to post-school opportunities for historically underserved communities.
