Applications Open for 2026 Academic Year

Vodacom invites ambitious and academically strong South African students to apply for its Merit Bursary Programme. This initiative aims to support students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields who demonstrate financial need but lack access to resources necessary to pursue higher education.

What the Programme Offers

Vodacom’s bursary provides comprehensive financial support, including:

• Full university accommodation

• Capped allowance for private accommodation

• Full registration and tuition fees

• Textbook allocation

• Meal allowance

Who Should Apply?

The bursary is open to students who meet the following criteria:

• South African citizen by birth

• Studying full-time at an accredited South African tertiary institution

• Must be in first, second, or third year of undergraduate study in STEM fields

• Grade 12 learners must have achieved 70% or higher across all subjects

• Tertiary students must have achieved an average of 65% or higher

• Applications are accepted from learners currently in Grade 12, or those who have completed matric and are accepted or enrolled at a university

Step 1: Register and Login

• Provide your ID number, email, contact number, password, and course type

• A verification link will be emailed to you — click to activate your account

• Login using your registered email and password

Step 2: Complete the Online Application Form

Fill in the following sections:

• Personal information

• Contact details

• Educational background

• Leadership roles and current commitments

• Upload all required supporting documents accurately and on time

Supporting Documents Checklist

Please ensure all relevant documents are uploaded. Failure to upload correct and complete documentation will lead to disqualification.

If you are a minor:

• Parental Consent Form

• Certified ID copy

If currently in Grade 12:

• Grade 11 final results (mandatory)

• Grade 12 results (optional)

If you have completed Grade 12 but not yet in tertiary:

• Matric certificate

• University acceptance letter

If currently in tertiary education:

• Academic record

• Fee statement

• Only South African citizens are eligible
