Stellenbosch University (SU) 2026 Applications Now Open

Stellenbosch University (SU) has officially opened its online application process for the 2026 academic year. Prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students are now welcome to apply for studies across SU’s campuses in Stellenbosch and Tygerberg.

Application Dates

• Opening Date: 1 April 2025

• Closing Date (Undergraduate & Residence Applications): 31 July 2025

Additional Deadlines:

• Financial Aid Applications: 1 – 31 October 2025

• Diploma in Public Accountability Applications: 26 January 2026

Application Fee

• South African applicants: R100

• International applicants: R400

• Stellenbosch Business School: R850 – R1,050 (depending on programme)

• Applicants from quintile 1–4 schools may apply for fee exemption.

How to Apply

1. Visit the Stellenbosch University website at www.sun.ac.za

2. Click on “Apply” and access the applicant portal

3. Register your profile and complete the online application form

4. Upload certified copies of:

   • South African ID or passport

   • Final Grade 11 or most recent school results

   • Any additional documents required by the programme

5. Pay the application fee or confirm your fee exemption

6. Submit your application before the deadline and retain your reference number

Tips for a Successful Application

• Apply early to avoid system delays and programme closures

• Check specific programme requirements, including NBTs for selected faculties

• Make sure all uploaded documents are certified and clearly scanned

• Use your personal and active email address and cellphone number

• Track your application status via the Stellenbosch University applicant portal
