Sol Plaatje University (SPU) has announced a funding opportunity for unemployed graduates who still have outstanding historic student debt.
Funding may be available to help eligible graduates settle their historic student debt. The initiative is aimed at assisting graduates whose outstanding university debt may be preventing them from accessing their qualifications and progressing with employment or further studies.
Who is this opportunity for?
The opportunity is specifically aimed at unemployed SPU graduates who completed one of the following qualifications:
- Diploma in ICT
- Advanced Diploma in ICT
- BCom Accounting
- BCom Economics
Funding is not guaranteed for every applicant. Eligible graduates will be considered for assistance.

Why this opportunity matters

SPU has previously participated in initiatives aimed at addressing historic student debt, including partnerships that have helped eligible graduates settle outstanding debt and access their qualifications.
