What Are Non-Subsidised Programmes?

A non-subsidised whole programme is an approved programme that does not receive state funding. These programmes are therefore self-funded by students.

Depending on the programme, successful completion may lead to a qualification or a UJ certificate.

The Faculty of Law offers specialised programmes in areas including:

Selected 2027 Programmes

Programmes listed for the 2027 intake include:

• Diploma in Paralegal Studies — Auckland Park Kingsway Campus — application closing date: 26 March 2027
• Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Law — application closing date: 25 March 2027
• Short Learning Programmes in areas including Insolvency Law, Labour Law, Compliance and Criminal Justice

Who Can Apply?

Admission requirements depend on the programme.

Diploma-level programmes may require a Grade 12 or equivalent qualification, while postgraduate programmes generally require an appropriate undergraduate qualification or other programme-specific requirements. Applicants should check the admission requirements for the specific programme before applying.

3. Choose your preferred programme and select the application option.
4. Create your UJ applicant profile using accurate identification, email and cellphone details.
5. Upload the required supporting documents.
6. Pay the application fee if it is applicable to your application.
7. Complete any verification steps required by UJ, including the facial-recognition verification process where requested.
8. Submit your application and keep your application details for future reference.
