About the Bursary

The bursary aims to support financially needy, academically deserving, and previously disadvantaged students who wish to study in agriculture and its related disciplines. It covers tuition, accommodation, food, books, and other necessary allowances. Fields of Study Funded

  1. BSc Eng. Agricultural (Bioresource) Engineering

  2. Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc.)

  3. BSc. Agric. (various specialisations):

    • Animal Science

    • Food Science

    • Agricultural Economics

    • Agronomy

    • Soil Science

    • Genetics

    • Viticulture and Oenology

  4. BSc. Food Science and Technology

  5. Diploma in Food Technology

  6. Advanced Diplomas in Agriculture-related fields

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen

  • Have a National Senior Certificate with:

    • Mathematics and Physical Sciences, performance between 50–79% depending on the course

  • Apply for a course in one of the specified fields at a recognized South African institution

Important Notes

  • You must submit your final Grade 12 results or most recent academic transcript by 14 days after the release of results.

  • If already at university, your proof of registration and academic record must accompany the application.

  • Incomplete, late, or emailed applications without the full set of required documents will not be considered.

  • The department reserves the right to limit bursaries based on available funding and priority needs.
