NDMC Bursary 2027 – Apply Online, Requirements & Closing Date
The NDMC Bursary 2027 supports eligible South African students studying Disaster Management, Fire Technology and Fire Engineering at recognised public higher education institutions.

The Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG), through the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC), is inviting applications for its 2027 bursary programme.
The bursary is available to qualifying students who intend to pursue full programmes in Disaster Management, Fire Technology or Fire Engineering at recognised public higher education institutions in South Africa. Certificate courses and PhD qualifications are excluded.

Undergraduate
Postgraduate Diploma
Advanced Diploma
Master's
What Does the NDMC Bursary Cover?
The official NDMC bursary advertisement states that the programme covers 100% of tuition fees, including registration.
For Master's students, a research allowance of up to R11,000 is also provided.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be South African citizens and must have applied, been accepted or be registered for an eligible full programme at a recognised public higher education institution in South Africa.
Certificate courses and PhD qualifications are not considered for this bursary.
Academic Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum academic requirements:
Undergraduate, Postgraduate Diploma and Advanced Diploma applicants
A minimum academic average of 60% is required in the most recent academic results or transcript.
Master's applicants
A minimum academic average of 65% is required. Master's applicants must also provide a brief CV and a research proposal based on one of the NDMC's priority thematic areas.
Required Documents
Applicants should prepare the following documents:
Certified copy of a South African Identity Document
Certified copy of Matric certificate
Most recent academic results, statement or transcript
Proof of application, acceptance or registration
Brief CV of no more than two pages, for Master's applicants
Master's research proposal covering one of the NDMC's priority thematic areas, for Master's applicants
Applicants should ensure that documents are clear and complete before submitting their applications. The NDMC states that incomplete applications, late applications, password-protected documents and corrupted documents will not be considered.

Important Application Information
The NDMC application system currently states that the platform does not support Android or Apple mobile devices. Applicants should therefore use a supported computer when completing the application.
