The Glencore Coal SA bursary is available for students in the following disciplines:

• Electrical Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Mining Engineering

• Metallurgical Engineering

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be currently in Grade 12, or a registered 2nd or 3rd year student at a university

• Grade 12 learners must have:

  • A minimum of level 6 for Mathematics and Physical Science for engineering disciplines

  • A minimum of level 5 for Mathematics and Physical Science for mining and metallurgical engineering

• Current university students must have achieved an average year mark of 60% or above

• Submit a comprehensive CV, a Grade 12 certificate, or the latest academic transcript

• Proof of residence must be included, especially for applicants residing in local communities near Glencore Coal operations

• Applicants receiving funding from another organisation are not eligible

• Final selection will consider Employment Equity and Glencore’s future talent requirements

• Shortlisted candidates must be available for assessments and interviews
